Program Flow

First  Year

  1. Mentor’s fall training
  2. Mentorship Program Retreat
  3. Mentor and Mentee one on one 3o minutes  meetings weekly
  4. Mentors and Mentees attend 2 diversity events monthly (one hosted by the LGBTQ and Intercultural Resource Center
  5. Monthly program outings
  6. L.I.F.T– First year student diversity and college life transition orientation
  7. Bi-weekly leadership and diversity group meetings


Second Year

  1. Mentor’s fall training
  2. Mentor and Mentee one on one 30 minutes meetings weekly
  3. Mentors and Mentees attend two (2) diversity events monthly (one hosted by the LGBTQ and Intercultural Resource Center)
  4. Monthly program outings
  5. Bi-weekly leadership and diversity group meetings
  6. Job interview coaching and practice
  7. Career focused internships/job search (this include summer opportunities)
  8. Identifying a faculty and alumni mentor during mentees second semester
  9. Work with Career services for professional development opportunities
  10. Research study abroad opportunities
  11. Build cover letter and resume
  12. Participate in mock interviews

Third Year

  1. Goal for mentee is to study abroad their third year
  2. Or obtain an Internship or Part-time job opportunity
  3. One (1) hour one on one monthly meetings with alumni and faculty member to discuss professional and graduate school opportunities (if abroad meeting could be held over Skype, Google Hangout or via phone)
  4. Monthly thirty minutes one on one meetings with mentoring program supervisor
  5. Survey graduate school and career interests
  6. Identifying prospective grad schools
  7. Developing and originate grad school application materials
  8. Fine-tune Resumes and Cover Letters


Fourth Year

  1. One (1) hour one on one monthly meetings with alumni and faculty member to discuss professional and graduate school opportunities (if abroad meeting could be held over Skype, Google Hangout or via phone)
  2. Monthly thirty minutes one on one meetings with mentoring program supervisor
  3. Submit graduate school application materials
  4. Mock interview for perspective jobs
  5. Partner with Career Services to finalize resumes and cover letters
  6. Job fairs
  7. Graduation
