HOUSING & RESIDENCE LIFE
The Office of Housing and Residence Life is strongly committed to supporting LGBTQ students throughout the academic year. They train all Housing staff on LGBTQ sensitivity, respond promptly to the needs of LGBTQ residents and even offer Gender Neutral Housing options for upperclassmen! The Counseling Center offers R-N Students short-term individual counseling, group counseling, workshops, drug and alcohol assistance, recovery support, and referrals to recovery housing and additional resources.
THE HEALTH CENTER
The Health Center at Rutgers-Newark provides a variety of health services to Rutgers-Newark students! Contact them if you have questions about their services, health insurance coverage or if you'd like to make an appointment!
Career Services provides programs and resources to assist LGBT students and alumni with such issues as locating "gay- and lesbian-friendly" employers and "coming out" during the job search or at work.
MINOR IN LGBT STUDIES
The Women and Genders Studies program at RU-Newark offers a minor in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies. Classes that count towards this major are cross-listed in many different departments, giving students flexibility in designing a minor that compliments their academic interests!
